Dr Peter Crosdale Director Peter is a coal geologist with over 30 years’ experience. He specialises in the geology of organic matter, including coal petrology and adsorption of gases by
coals. Peter has a varied background in both academia and industry. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons I) from The University of Newcastle (NSW, Australia) under the
supervision of Professor Claus Diessel and a Ph.D. in coal geology from The University of Auckland (New Zealand) under the supervision of Professor Philippa
Black. He has worked in offshore oil exploration, laboratory analysis of coals and was Director of the Coalseam Gas research Institute, James Cook University,
Townsville (QLD, Australia). He is the founder and Director of Energy Resources Consulting Pty Ltd.
Peter’s knowledge of the industry remains current through his ongoing contributions to various professional and academic organisations. He regularly runs
short courses in organic geology to industry bodies and tertiary institutions. He is currently an adjunct associate professor at the University of Queensland.

the GSA; The Australasian Institute of Geologists (AIG); The Society of Organic Petrologists (TSOP); the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA); the
Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the International Committee for Coal and Organic Petrology (ICCP). He is a past committee member for TSOP, the GSA
Coal Geology Group, the GSA Sedimentology Specialist Group and is currently the vice-¬President as well the Editor of the ICCP. He is an accredited coal petrographer
in the Single Coal Accreditation Program (SCAP) and Vitrinite Reflectance of Dispersed Organic Matter (DOMVR).. |
