Dr. Peter Crosdale (Ph.D., MAIG)
Peter is a geologist with over 30 years of experience in hydrocarbons, predominantly coal and related coal seam gases. He has worked in private industry, academia and as a business owner. During 11 years as director of the Coal Seam Gas Research Institute, James Cook University, he was responsible for undergraduate and post-graduate teaching, fundamental research and commercial activities. Links to academia have been maintained via an adjunct Associate Professor in Geology position held at the University of Queensland, lecturing at QUT and UNSW as well as publishing in academic journals and conference presentations. Other professional activities include journal refereeing, current councillor of the Int. Committee for Coal and Organic Petrology (ICCP), former councillor of TSOP (The Society for Organic Petrology) as well as membership of the Geol. Soc. Aust., AIG and PESA. Peter’s current focus is as managing director of Energy Resources Consulting Pty Ltd, a private company specializing in gas adsorption isotherms, programmed pyrolysis (Rock Eval), coal petrography, petroleum source rock evaluation. He also delivers short courses on these and related topics.
